I am Paul Alan Clifford, M.Div., a fellow-journeyer, ever-working to use the talents God has given me. I work with church staff and volunteers, who want to use technology to impact people far from God, by navigating through the maze of possibilities and jargon. I want your church to get past the hurdles and embrace the tools so that technology is a gift, not a burden.
I don’t know all the answers, but I do have a curious mind and the desire to share whatever I learn.
I’ve been a tech volunteer with
Lexington City Church (formerly called Quest Community Church) in Lexington, KY since 2000 and am the founder of
TrinityDigitalMedia.com, llc and created
ChurchTechU, an online church tech training community.
I started doing technology in ministry when my church’s attendance was around 200 in one Sunday service and have witnessed its growth to 5,300 average weekly attendance in one Saturday service, four Sunday services in one online and three physical campuses. I’ve also felt the sadness of that same church shrinking somewhat, after the senior pastor left in disgrace.
I literally wrote the book(s) on
podcasting in churches,
twitter in churches,
servant-hearted volunteering, following a radical calling, creativity in church, videography for churches, and live-streaming for churches, as well as having written various articles for publications like “
Church Production” and “
Technologies for Worship” magazines and other church tech blogs.
I’ve also published over 1,000
YouTube tutorials and run various Facebook groups including the
Official ProPresenter Users’ Group.
